Its simply amazing to see the kind of response this recent Plumbers week has collected for itself. After having not set out the way we were expecting it to have, it is stupendous to see the way it suddenly picked up momentum and ended on a great note. It really justified the kind of preparation we did for it.

When we first went ahead with this small idea in our head, we were inundated with a trillion doubts as to how such an unconventional event will be responded to. Everyone involved in this noble effort was somewhere very skeptical about it. Well, and then we thought, lets just go ahead!

And Im happy that we chose to support it. The kind of encouragement building up its done for the plumbers is brilliant. Besides this, it has given an excitement to a lot many professionals that their work can be respected by one and all.

Well the deal is- everyone requires a degree of excitement in their professional life sometime or the other. For a community of plumbing experts, we did it not out of any coercion but because we knew that this would further do them a great deal of benefit.

To come to the details- the week kick started with some fun games for plumbers. Some took this opportunity to advertise their skills and get new business. Some addressed general plumbing issues at large and some spoke of this community in general. All in all, the participation was amazing.

Next we all saw some interesting contests for plumbers wherein they stood to gain handsome gifts and prizes like some home durables, a trip to the nearby adventure Island and many other small attractions.

As we stepped into the second half of the Plumbers week, we strongly noticed plumbing works going up in general .There were a lot of residential and commercial people seeking the aid of a plumber for plumbing issues. This gave a good visibility for these plumbing experts.

The most beautiful part of this fair is that it instilled the apt quantity of enthusiasm in both the parties- the plumbing professionals as well as potential clients. And if word is to be believed, then workers from other professions also want something like this to happen for them. Good enough, isnt it?

Soil contains two types of pores, macro- pores and micro pores. Macro pores generally allow the ready exchange of air and movement of water. In micro pores, both air and water movement is restricted.

Adobe soil is heavy clay, sometimes with an admixture of silt. It is likely to be rich in minerals, but almost entirely deficient in humus. Of all soil types it is one of two (sand is the other) that will benefit most conspicuously from organic gardening methods.

Soil aeration is directly related to the porosity of the soil. Proper aeration of the soil is important to proper plant growth. Well- aerated soil consists of a large proportion of macro pores, allowing sufficient quantities of the right gases to be available to aerobic organisms to encourage best functioning and growth.

Poor aeration results in a decrease in the activity of soil microorganisms. When oxidation of organic matter slows, aerobic organisms are unable to function properly. Higher plants are adversely affected in several ways. Root and top growth is slowed, absorption of nutrients and water is decreased and certain inorganic compounds toxic to plant growth may form.

Role of Soil in Air is needed in the soil for the decomposition of organic matter, and is necessary for the proper functioning of soil microorganisms and oxidation of mineral matter. In poorly aerated soil, few minerals are available for plant sustenance. The presence of sufficient oxygen helps to balance the supply of carbon dioxide, and in the process of plant respiration, oxygen is absorbed by plant roots. Better soil aeration enables plants to develop a bigger root system and results in higher yields. In the process of plant growth. the leaves absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and give off oxygen. The reverse takes place in the roots, which take in oxygen and give off carbon dioxide. In the decay of organic matter, carbon dioxide is given off.

The composition of soil air differs somewhat from that of the atmosphere above ground. In the soil much of the air is dissolved in the soil water, but as such it is available to the needs of plants. Humidity is greater in the soil, a condition necessary for the optimum functioning of soil organisms.

Tilling is an excellent means of improving soil aeration and reducing the carbon dioxide content of the soil.

When one plows or tills corn and then cultivates three times while the crop grows, much air is mixed with the soil, weeds are killed and crop yields increase.
